Jarrow Formulas SAM-e 400 -- 30 Enteric-Coated Tablets
Promotes: Longevity • Joint Strength • Liver Detoxification • Mood and Brain Function. Jarrow FORMULAS pharmaceutical grade stabilized SAM-e 400 provides a full 400 mg SAM-e (net yield) from 800 mg of SAM-e tosylate disulfate. SAM-e 400 is manufactured under low temperature and low humidity and is enteric-coated to ensure a biologically active product. Contains More of the Active SS Form. Found in all living cells SAM-e is a metabolite of methionine (an essential amino acid). SAM-e is a chiral molecule and consists of two forms: (SS) SAM-e and (RS) SAM-e. The biologically active form is the (SS) structure while the (RS) structure is biologically inactive. Jarrow FORMULAS SAM-e is made naturally by microbiological fermentation and then specially processed without solvents to preserve 68-80% (SS) SAM-e the highest active level available. SAM-e has been clinically shown to have the following benefits:. Joint Strength . SAM-e supports the production of healthy connective tissue through transulfuration. In this process critical components of connective tissue including glucosamine and the chondroitin sulfates are sulfated by SAM-e metabolites. Brain Metabolism. SAM-e methylation reactions are involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as L-DOPA dopamine and related hormones serotonin epinephrine and phosphatidylcholine (a component of lecithin). Longevity. Methylation of DNA appears to be important in the suppression of errors in DNA replication. Demethylation of DNA is considered a contributor to the aging process. Proper methylation through substances such as SAM-e positively influences longevity. Liver. SAM-e metabolism supports the synthesis of glutathione (GSH) and glutathione-dependent enzymes (glutathione peroxidase and glutathione-S-transferase) which are substances important for liver function.

"Yes it is true.. this product helps life "feel" a bit less stressful. I tried it, and I must say - it works. How? Who knows - who cares.... it just works.
The price: Well it is a bit costly - and I wish there were more tablets in the box - but it is worth it, I have tried St. John's Wort and I think this is much better.
Try it once and you more than likely, will be a believer.

"I've tried all of the SAMe 400 mg versions put out by other companies but never really got relief until I actually spent the extra money on Jarrow's 400 mg. It does what it says on the label. When I forget to take it, I really notice the difference. Wouldn't be without it!"

"I have been taking this product for a year and it is very effective both for mental and physical supplementation. I stop taking it about once every 4 months for a couple weeks and then restart so that I can rebuild efficacy, Don't know if you are supposed to do that but I do and it works out great for me. Definately notice the difference."

"I noticed a difference in my mood after a week of using SAM-e. I felt "happier" and could handle stress better. I bought it to help me handle stress but it also has been really good for my joint. I read some people had stomach upset, but I did not experience it at all. I take it on an empty stomach every morning."

"Jarrow is a fantastic company; I have taken their vitamins before. The sam-E is just marvelous. I recommend the 400mg instead of the 200mg twice a day. Take it at night for best results. I had no stomach ache with the 400mg, but with the 200mg I experienced an upset stomach after taking them first thing in the morning."

"The way I really found out that this product works is after taking it for a very long time, I decided I didn't need it any longer so I stopped. Bad idea! I noticed within two weeks my motivation level went down and my "normal" high energy went down. So I rush ordered my SAM-e and got my 74 year old dad some too. Now he loves it too and he is working out with a personal trainer now.
I'll be taking this for life because of my improved quality of life! I have the stamina to get all my work done! I'd give it 6 stars if I could."

"There are side effects! This is a potent supplement that starts working right away. I experienced mood elevation and stress reduction by day 2 taking 1/day, but unfortunately it interfered with my sleep and made me feel hyper. I had nightmares all night that woke me up, plus during the day I felt restless and agitated. I just stopped taking it because it was too much for me.
I would recommend this product to anybody looking for a mood/stress supplement."
